Kukidolong Village Council (KVC) has asked the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur to release compensation for land affected by the proposed four-lane national highway construction.
In a representation submitted to the DC, Kukidolong Village Council chairman Victo Zhimo on behalf of the affected landowners of Kukidolong Village said that the process for the construction of the four-lane highway began in 2012.
Since then, the landowners had cooperated with the responsible authority by accepting the rates for both land and buildings, said Kukidolong Village Council.
The council reminded that all the required details of bank accounts of the affected landowners had been submitted but till today, the compensation has not yet been paid.
Based on the situation, the village council passed a resolution on September 4 and request the authority to expedite the matter and release the compensation within seven days from the date of submission of this representation or re-negotiate the rate with the landowners after the expiry of the date mentioned.
