Training programme on peace building

A five-day training programme on peace building and conflict transformation was conducted by Peace Channel January 27-31 at Peace Channel Conference Hall.
According to a press release, Peace Channel director Rev. Fr. C.P. Anto, during the launch of training programme, apprised the participants about the conflicts thriving in the society that could escalate into a full blown violence in the future.
Rev. Anto said the magnitude and the present conflict in Naga society was so vast that “we need more people to be involved in the process of peace building and conflict transformation.” He asserted that Naga society needed peace builders. The training was attended by animators and volunteers from different districts of Nagaland.
Several topics were covered during the programme including concepts of peace building, peace theories, inner peace building, leaders role in peace building, dialogue, youth issues and challenges were some of the topics discussed and deliberated.
The training was focused on capacitating leaders on how to attain inner peace to realize the potentials for Peace building in order to influence the leaders in peace building.
