State to observe fire service week

DIG of Fire and Emergency Services, Neilasa Sopfü, has informed that the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, Kohima, along with the other fire services across the country, would observe “Fire Service Week” commencing from April 14-20. 
The day is observed as “martyrs” day to pay homage to those brave firemen who lost their lives while performing their duties. It also set aside for mass awareness campaigns on fire hazards and safety measures by conducting fire safety and evacuation drills.
To commemorate the fire service week, 10 districts in the state would demonstrate awareness on fire prevention and safety on April 14. In Kohima the programme would start from 8 a.m. where the stoppage points are CRPF Lerie, Mohankhola Junction, PHQ Junction, Old MLA Hostel Junction, New NST, Kezekie market, Tinpati and High School Junction.
In Dimapur, the stoppage points are Clock Tower, Notun Bosti, DC office Junction, PWD Junction, MP Road Junction, and Super Market.
In Chumukedima, the stoppage points are Sieuhuza, Chumukedima Bazaar, Sovima Junction, and 2nd Gate.
In Mon, the stoppage points are New Site Junction, Night Station and Bazaar Line Junction. In Tuensang, the stoppage points are Tower Clock and High School Junction.
In Zunheboto, the stoppage points are Police Point, DC Office Junction and BOC. In Mokokchung, the stoppage points are Sungkom, Police Point and Sewak Gate, while in Wokha, the stoppage points are Police Point, Zero Point and Sewak Gate and in Kiphire town, the stoppage points are DC office, Bazaar Junction, and Police Point.
