Nagaland chief secretary Pankaj Kumar, IAS has informed that import of birds and poultry products from Manipur state has been banned with immediate effect. Kumar said it was done as a preventive measure till further orders on account of the reported outbreak of Avian Influenza (AI) in Manipur. He further asked all the concerned authorities to strictly comply with the government directives.
