
In commemorating of “World Clubfoot Day” observed on June 3 worldwide and to create awareness on clubfoot deformity, CURE Nagaland Programme has informed that the deformity can be treated and a child can be as normal as any other child with early treatment.
In a press statement CURE Nagaland Programme, state programme coordinator Tiarenla Jamir has informed that any child born with clubfoot deformity should immediately bring after birth to the hospital for assessment and avail free treatment.
It has been informed that the child can be brought at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima under Orthopedics department or can contact the helpline numbers: NHAK 09615606161 and national helpline number (Delhi) 09868005679.
Nagaland programme has its clinic at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (on every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m.) where there are already 35 children enrolled for free treatment.
It may be noted that MoU was signed between government of Nagaland and CURE International India on March 25, 2013. Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) is also partnering with this programme to give wide publicity and disseminate information to all its associations and affiliated churches that clubfoot can be treated and without any cost.
CURE International India, a National Voluntary Health Care Organization which is committed to eradicate disability cause by clubfoot in India has extended its programme of treating children born with clubfoot deformity in 23 states in India.
More than18000 children enrolled for free treatment in 110 designated clubfoot clinics in India. CURE aims at bringing changes and a new hope in the lives of many children and their families.
