Parliamentary Secretary land revenue, village guards and woman resources development, Nagaland L. Khumo on July 2 met joint secretary for Ministry of Home Affairs, Shambo Singh at his office North Block, New Delhi.
In the meeting, Khumo asked the Ministry to look into the village guards’ salary, since till date the village guards are paid as wages.
Khumo was of the view that as uniform man they should be paid on monthly salary basis and not in “mere wages”.
The parliamentary secretary also requested the Ministry to add more village guards in all the new villages in the International Border.
