OWZ visits Mother’s Hope; donates blood at DHD

In view of Tsungremmong festival, members of “Ongpang Waipong Zunga (OWZ)” visited Mother’s Hope and also donated at District Hospital Dimapur (DHD), Sunday.
In a short fellowship at Mother’s Hope, proprietor Moala expressed gratitude to the group for taking out their time to visit the home.
Briefing about the home, Moala said that Mother’s Hope was initiated in the year 2001 to give and bring hope to pregnant girls and their families going through pregnancy crises.
She said the home provides and promotes loving, nurturing care to newborn babies and infants needing permanent loving families.
Moala also mentioned that the home provided services of counseling, short stay home (safe, secure, confidential home), baby care and encourages local adoption so babies could be with their “own people”,  rehabilitation, awareness programmes and craftwork centre.
Mentioning features of Mother’s Hope, Moala said that over 70% of Mother’s Hope staff is trained medical workers. She also informed that residents were not required to pay any fees and that vocational training was offered to all pregnant girls under their care.
It may be noted that Mother’s Hope is a self funded, non-profit charitable society, and residents are provided with free antenatal, post-natal care and counseling. Pregnant girls facing financial constraints are also offered subsidized/sponsored education and career building courses. All services provided by Mother’s Hope are kept confidential.
Later, some of the Ongpang Waipong Zunga office bearers also donated free blood headed by its chairman, Sowa Longkumer at District Hospital Dimapur (DHD).
During the blood donation, in-charge of blood bank DHD Dr. Temsu expressed gratitude to the group for coming forward to donate blood.
Ongpang Waipong Zunga is a group started by likeminded people of Ongpangkong range in the year 1999. The group has been organizing seminars, workshops and helping downtrodden people for the past many years.
