Teachers’ day was celebrated across the state with various colourful programmes on September 5. DPS DIMAPUR: Teachers’ day was celebrated at Delhi Public School (DPS) Dimapur with pomp and revelry September 5. To mark the occasion, an array of scintillating performance was presented by the school children. DPS pro vice chairman Dr. Aotoshi and principal B.K Nanda spoke at the event.
The celebration concluded with students participating in various competitions like slogan cum poster making, creative writing for the seniors and drawing and colouring for the tiny tots.
GPS VALLEY VIEW: Government primary school (GPS) Valley View, Dimapur celebrated Teachers’ Day, where school management committee has expressed gratitude to the AGM and staff of SBI, main branch Dimapur for acknowledging the grievances and donating water purifier to the school on the occasion. In a press release, school management committee chairman Kahoshe S Yepthomi said it was a dream come true for the school, which was assisted with safe drinking water.
MCHSS: Mount Carmel Higher Secondary School (MCHSS) Kohima celebrated Teacher’s Day cum annual prize distribution day September 5 with joint director, youth resource and sports Neilalhoulie Soliezuo as chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, he urged the teachers to love their job as teacher, which would in turn inspire the students to have purpose in life.
The chief guest honoured the teachers stating ‘teachers are the silent builders of the nation”. The programme, marked by cultural presentations, was also dedicated to students who excelled in the field of sports and academic performance. The award was given away by the chief guest and the director MCHSS, Rev. Dr. Visielie Angami.
BETHESDA HS SCHOOL, DIMAPUR: Bethesda Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, celebrated Teachers’ Day on the school campus with Rev. Moses Murry, chairman, Bethesda Ministries, as the chief guest.
While pre-teachers’ Day was celebrated on September 4, for young ones from Nursery to Class III, the main function for students of Class IV to XII was organized on September 5, 2013.
Presents to teachers and entertainments like special numbers, dances, skits, etc., marked the celebrations.
In his speech, Rev. Moses Murry urged upon the teachers to be role models and not job-oriented. Calling the teachers as the “architects of humanity”, he appreciated the sacrifices and tireless efforts of teachers while moulding the children, and also asked the teachers to uphold the sanctity of the teaching profession.
He said Jesus, the greatest of all teachers, should be an inspiration for all the teachers. The function was chaired by Arup Roy and Kebosenti of Class XII.
Invocation prayer was led by pastor Waiposong, MK Money, principal, Bethesda Higher Secondary School, gave the vote of thanks and benediction pronounced by Esther Murry, administrator.
GPS, KANGTSUNGYIMSEN: Songs, skits and dances presented by students marked the celebration of teachers’ day in GPS, Kangtsungyimsen.
The programme concluded with distribution of sweets to students, and refreshment to all students, teachers and invitees, according to a release issued by Sentongzulu, teacher in-charge of the school.
GMS, AHTHIBUNG: Celebration of teachers’ day in government middle school, Ahthibung, Peren, started with a procession by students holding placards and shouting slogans such as “5th September, Teachers’ Day”, No Teachers, No Progress” and “We Love Our Teachers”.
After the procession, light refreshment was served. The second session with class VI students leading the programme. Students presented songs, dances, etc., besides honoring their teachers with flowers and pens.. Retired teachers, pastors and VEC members attended the function.
GMS, NITOZU: Government Middle School, Nitozu celebrated teachers’ day with students participating in various events, according to Shitovi Sumi, chairman, School Management Committee.
GMS, AIZUTO: Government Middle School, Aizuto also celebrated teachers’ day with various programmes at Heritage Conference Hall in Zunheboto district, according to Ally Yeptho, head teacher of the school.
DLSA PEREN: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Peren, organized Peren district essay competition on the topic “National Integration” on the occasion of teachers’ day at town hall, Peren on September 5. Forty-one students participated in the competition which was divided into two groups – college level and high school level.
At the college level, the first prize was won by Hingsibe Irangchung. The second and third prize went to Machilungle Haihing and Inhabeu Kauring respectively. Nsamheile was first prize winner of the competition at the high school level.
Limayangla and Namgwangheile finished second and third respectively in the contest. The first prize winner got Rs 2,500, the second Rs 1,500 and third Rs 1,000.
Consolation prizes of Rs 300 each were given to all the participants. The prizes were given away by Bodeno S Colo, ADC, Peren, who attended the programme as the chief guest.
