Expressing concern on the irregularities of teachers at various Government High Schools and Government Middle Schools under its jurisdiction, Longkhim Division Students’ Union (LDSU) has appealed to the responsible department to look into grievances at the earliest.
Longkhim Division Students’ Union has also cautioned the SSA teachers to be sincere in their duties.
With regard to this, LDSU held a joint meeting with village education committee (VEC) chairman and secretaries of Longkhim area, covering 12 villages and comprising of 23 government schools.
In a press statement, Longkhim Division Students’ Union president Daniel Sangtam and executive secretary Tia O. Sangtam stated that various problems and issues pertaining to the functioning of schools in the area were discussed. The union said it has found out that most of the schools were running under one single teacher only.
Longkhim Division Students’ Union said it has detected irregularities in the following schools; GMS Sangsomong was running under one science teacher alone, GHS Chimonger with one G/T and AHM transferred with post, GPS Nyuli Chimonger under one Hindi teacher transferred with post, GMS Lirise with shortage of Maths, Hindi and one general teacher, GHS Angangba with only 2 G/T and no Hindi teacher, GMS Phir Ahi with 2 teachers only and GPS Phir Ahi with only Hindi teacher transferred with post.
Taking serious note on the issue, Longkhim Division Students’ Union warned that it would conduct surprise checking in all other departments within its jurisdiction. It cautioned that those employee(s) found neglecting their duties would be dealt strictly.
