A loud explosion below New Secretariat, near police outpost Kohima caused alarm in the vicinity Monday at around 8: 40 pm. Police sources informed that the explosion was not caused by a bomb but suspected to be old battery or bottle containing explosive substances. The blast took place in a roadside dust bin close to the Convention Hall. Police BDS were on the scene. No one was injured, police said.
