Eastern Sumi Students’ Union (ESSU) has drawn the attention of higher education department on the non availability of infrastructure and shortages of teaching faculty at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Aghunato.
In a press release ESSU president, Vihepu Yeputhomi said that the school was upgraded to higher secondary level in 2011, but the responsible department failed to provide adequate requirements of the school.
Many students have been suffering due to “total neglect and irresponsible” on the department’s failure to provide quality education, the union added.
ESSU said it felt disheartened when they found that there was “no lecture” in the education department. It therefore, has requested the higher authority to appoint lecture in education department “as soon as possible”, failing which the union said that it would not remained silent for the legitimate right.
ESSU further, said it had found that almost all lecturer and teachers were proxies. To promote cohesive atmosphere and quality education, ESSU urged the school authority to submit the names and reports of duly attested teachers at the union office without delay.
