Bishop visits Phesama landslide

Bishop of Kohima Rev. Dr. James Thoppil visited Phesama landslide on August 29 and extended deep sympathy and prayed for the affected people.
During his visit, Bishop appreciated the volunteers and people, for their services rendered to those affected and to those people who were working tirelessly to clear the landslide. He also lauded Jesuit fathers for providing shelter to the students. Rev. Thoppil expressed the hope that more relief assistance would be arranged from Development Association of Nagaland (DAN), social arm of the Diocese, Caritas India and relief agency of the Catholic Church.
Bishop was accompanied by priests of St. Paul institute Phesama Fr. Anand, Fr. Boniface, Fr. Felix, Fr. Thomas Toretkiu, secretary and youth leaders of the village and Catholic elders.
Few days prior to bishop’s visit, vicar general Fr. Neisalhou Carolus, financial administrator Fr. George Punnolil, Fr. Richard Fernandes and various Catholic institutions visited the site.
