One day farmers’ training cum demo on vermi- compost was conducted on October 7 at Aquba ‘A’ village organized by Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) and agriculture department.
During the programme, importance of vermi compost and vermi bed preparation was demonstrated by SDAO and BTT convener ATMA K. Pekiye Sema while BTT member Kiyeto spoke on package and practices of vegetable cultivation. The main purpose of the training was to impart knowledge and skills in the area of vermi compost and vegetable growers and SHGs. Altogether 30 farmers attended both the training and demo. The programme was chaired by Kiheto.
MOKOKCHUNG: Three-day training-cum field demonstration for the stake holders of Mokokchung district on mulberry culture under Integrated Sericulture Development Project (ISDP) NERTPS (2015-16) was held from October 6 to 8 at Government Mulberry Farm, Ungma. The training programme was organized by the department of Sericulture, Mokokchung.
Inaugurating the programme, District Sericulture Officer (DSO) Mokokchung, Alemkumzuk briefed on the project and various inputs on technical construction of rearing house, and innovative team workmanship.
Meanwhile, E.O Menguo and E.O Imtimeren spoke on package of practices, diseases and hygienic management on silkworm host plant cultivation and silkworm rearing, and economics of sericulture. Altogether 50 beneficiaries from within the district attended the programme.
