Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) and Eastern Naga Students’ Union Dimapur (ENSUD) in a separate statement have urged the state government for early release of scholarship.
In a press release, Interim council of the Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) has appealed for immediate release of the long pending merits scholarship for the session 2014 – 2015 in the interest of the student community.ENCSU interim council chairman Longri Chang and secretary Theose Sangtam stated that there was no doubt the scholarship was for welfare of the students but lamented that “slack administrative process” has pushed them into a crisis.
ENCSU has requested the state government not to jeopardize the future of the students by delaying which was meant for educational expense of the ensuing session.
The union has urged the State government to expedite the release of merit scholarship by the end of November 2015. Further it also cautioned that failure to comply may invite the ire of the union adding that ENSCU would not be held responsible for situations arising out of it.
In a separate release, ENSUD president Stephen Chang and general secretary Mukamchim T Yimchunger said that the suspension have created unwanted inconveniences for the students who have been eagerly waiting for its benefits. The union also mentioned that many students have depended on the meager amount of benefit to boast their academic career. ESUD further appealed the concerned authority to release the pending scholarship of the students at the state as well as those outside the state at the earliest.
