CM for quality improvement of local products

Nagaland chief minister T.R. Zeliang on Friday called for improving the quality of local products while emphasising the need to create more awareness to promote local products. According to media cell, CMO, Zeliang said this when YouthNet comprising of young entrepreneurs network from Dimapur, Kohima and Mokokchung called on him at his residence in Kohima.
The chief minister also said that “we must make our local product popular and precious”, adding that globally people run after quality products and Nagas must make their local product a quality product. 
Citing the case of Naga king chilly that was very popular not only in India but internationally, he said Nagas should advertise local products and identify the markets where they could supply locally produced products. 
Young entrepreneurs highlighted various points to chief minister during the discussion. They asked the chief minister if task force for entrepreneurship could be constituted. Entrepreneurs also suggested creating a one stop hub for local products and service centre and also exposure trip for young entrepreneur’s to attend international entrepreneur’s conference.
The young entrepreneurs expressed belief that taking such initial steps would help towards strengthening the entrepreneurship eco system in the State and create a strong private sector transforming the economy of the state. Further, they highlighted their activities and different ventures they were currently into and shared their personal views and opinions. Zeliang said the task force idea presented for entrepreneurship was workable. He told them to work out what will be the role of entrepreneurs in the government, knowing that entrepreneurs were very important stakeholders in the progress and development of the State.
