As part of eight delegates from north east India, Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur (LBCD), Yanpemo Lotha attended “conflict transformation training” organised and hosted by Dr. Daniel. L. Buttry and team from February 9 to 18 at Baguio city. The participants were different countries, especially from South-East Asia.
A press release by Pastor Yanpemo Lotha, resource persons of the training training were Dr. Daniel L. Buttry, a world renowned peace maker and global consultant for peace and justice for International Ministries of the American Baptist Churches who was also one of the key leaders to initiate Naga Peace Reconciliation Process, his wife Sharon Buttry and Philippino named Jack.
Some of the themes of the training were Biblical leadership style of conflict management, Jesus style of conflict management, approaches to handling conflict, principles of negotiation, approaches to building peace, consensus decision making, methods of nonviolent action and a conflict resolution planning tools.
Further, Pastor Yanpemo Lotha said “Naga Peace process is in a very crucial situation and Naga leaders need a compact skill conflict management training relevant to Naga context rather than an emotional imposition from their own perspective”.
