DPDB, SDPDB meetings in Mkg, Mangkolemba

Monthly meetings of District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) of Mokokchung and Sub-divisional DPDB meeting of Mangkolemba was held on Monday. 
MOKOKCHUNG: Mokokchung DPDB meeting-cum-picnic was held at State Agricultural Research Station (SARS), Yisemyong, attended by members from all over the district including officers from central government posted in the district headquarters, stated a DIPR report.
DC and vice chairman DPDB Mokokchung, Sushil  Kumar Patel who presided the meeting welcomed all the members and informed them that the intention of the  meet  held at SARS was to enable the members to witness the agricultural research activities at Yisemyong and to  reactivate the Officers Club Mokokchung. He also introduced a few senior officers, who were recently transferred to Mokokchung including Commanding Officer 44 Assam rifles Col. B.N Nayak. The 44 AR Commanding Officer, in his short speech sought cooperation from the members and assured all possible help for the well being of the people in the district.
Project Officer, SARS, Yisemyong, Dr. D.K Chetri, informed the members that a total of 857 land races of rice in Nagaland had been documented out of which two verities: SARs-1 and SARS-6 are under registration with Protection of Plant Variety and Farmers Right Authority, New Delhi. He also informed the members about research works on organic farming and that SARS was planning to open Gene Bank in the centre to preserve varieties of rice in the state.
Official from district AIDS Prevention Control Unit Mokokchung presented HIV scenario from April 2015 to January 2016.  
Upgradation of GPS Mekhuli, Registration of Society, Northeast Alliance for leadership Education & Social Transformation (NEALEAST) and renaming of Paper Nagar Post Office to Tsudikong town Post Office were discussed and decided to forward recommendation to the responsible departments.
MANGKOLEMBA: ADC Mangkolemba and vice chairman SDPDB, Imtiwapang Aier chaired the monthly meeting of Mangkolemba SDPDB meeting.
He welcomed all the board members, and briefed on the bandh called by various NGOs in Assam and the recent situation relating to Assam- Nagaland border areas. He also welcomed L. Koshih Könyak, the new Tsurangkong BDO. 
Deliberating on the agenda submitted by Changdang Village Council seeking assistance for construction of Agri -Link road, the board decided that only proper physical verification by DBs considering its feasibility, the board will forward the matter to the responsible department. 
Discussing on the activities undertaken by Railtel, which caused huge damage to road connectivity in the sub division, the board has decided to give 10-day deadline to nodal officer of the agency to meet executive engineer PWD and ADC to discuss the matter. 
The board also warned that failure on the part of the agency to meet the above mentioned officials would result to suspension of work in the sub division.
In the meeting, ADC also placed the report regarding the village tour undertaken by the SDPDB members to Alongkima circle/ Changkikong range on February 9 and 10. The board decided to organize the next SDPDB members village tour March 17 and 18 covering Longchem Circle/Japukong range.
