Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (SBAK Aizuto) and Anderson Theological College, Aizuto jointly organized a condolence service as homage for NSCN (I-M) chairman late Isak Chishi Swu on July 1.
In the programme, a tribute speech was delivered by executive secretary SBAK Aizuto, Rev. Dr. Joshua Rochill who recalled late Isak Chishi Swu as a peace loving man, a man of prayer who loved the word of God, a man who was not only a legendary political leader, but a spiritual leader who was always concerned for the spiritual welfare of Nagas in general and Sumis in particular. Condolence message was delivered by principal, ATC, Rev. Mulato Chishi where he testified late Isak Chishi Swu as a religious man, selfless man and a humble man like Moses who loved the Lord. A befitting passage from the scriptures was ascribed to him, where in 2 Timothy 4:7 Apostle Paul had said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”.
The programme was chaired by vice principal, ATC, Inakhu Chishi while a patriotic number was presented by ATC choir to honor the departed leader.
LSU: Lotha Students Union has deeply mourned the demise of the late Isak Chishi Swu, whom it has described as a true patriot and true leader of Naga struggle all throughout his life. The union said it salutes him for his sacrifice towards the Nagas national struggle and further extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul rest in peace.
NSCN/GPRN Konyak region: NSCN/GPRN Konyak Region has expressed sadness over the demise of late Isak Chishi Swu. In a condolence message, central administrative officer (CAO) Konyak Region NSCN/GPRN, on behalf of Konyak national workers, stated “not only was late Isak the tallest revolutionary, he was also a strong apostle especially for our people. Words may not suffice to show our honour and respect to out leader late Isak Chishi Swu, but we can only say that the footprint you have left will remain in the annals of our history.” Further, NSCN/GPRN Konyak Region has extended its condolences to the bereaved family.
GBUD (Sadar): GBs Union Dimapur (Sadar) in a condolence message described late Isak as a God fearing man and one of the most respected Naga leader who had contributed his entire life to the cause of Naga self determination. Meanwhile, the union has also condole the demise of late Rev. Lano Longchar and stated that late Rev. Longchar was a soul reaper from amongst the Nagas through dedication and truthfulness to God. The union further conveyed its condolences to both bereaved families.
NSCN/GPRN Phom Region: NSCN/GPRN Phom Region mourned the demise of late Isak Chishi Swu. In a condolence message, tatar cum caretaker CAO Phom Region, Tali and dy. kilo kilonser, Regional Affairs, L. Ali Phom, said “with the demise of late Isak, an era is gone in the history of Naga Nation. His life represents the highest manifestation of courage, dedication, commitment, and sacrifice to the cause of Naga Nation.”
NPGN/NNC (Non Accord): NPGN/NNC (Non Accord), president, Temjen Yanger Aier, has expressed great pain and shock over the demise of late Isak Chishi Swu. Aier stated that late Isak, who sacrificed his whole life for the Naga movement since 1950, was the architect of the Naga movement to bring lasting solution to Naga homeland between India and Nagas. Stating that he regard late Isak as one of the greatest champion of the Naga National leaders, Aier remarked, “Nagas have lost one of the most influential and courageous veteran leader. His guidance and contribution will remain vital and always acknowledged.” Aier has further conveyed his condolence to the bereaved family.
DSDPOD: Dhansiripar Sub-Divisional Public Organization has expressed sorrow over the demise of late Isak Chishi Swu. In a condolence message, DSDPO said “during his lifetime, late Isak worked tirelessly for bringing amicable solution to the Naga political struggle. He dedicated his life for the greater cause of the Nagas, fighting for sovereignty and peace, and was even committed to extend his service to other Asiatic countries.”
It further stated “he had indeed left a strong imprint on the heart and mind of the people and his legacy will truly pass on to the future generation.”
