Road sinking along NH-61

Road sinking at Yisemyong along National Highway 61 that has been occurring since the last few weeks is causing inconvenience to travellers and the locals of the area.

According to Yisemyong resident, NH-61 in Mokokchung connecting Assam, Dimapur via Amguri has been left un-repaired by the responsible authority leading to road sinking.

The resident said almost every day both light and heavy vehicles get stuck in the sink hole disturbing smooth passage of public buses and trucks.

He said accidents have also occurred at the sinking site recently injuring an old lady, a resident of the locality. Though many complaints have been made no repairs were undertaken, he said.
