The road leading to Entsüngkong Ward, BSNL station and the Amenity Centre of Tourism Department, in Mangkolemba town was repaired by members of Mangkolemba Adhoc Town Committee (MATC), all Ward chairmen and the executive committee, GBs and well wishers, in coordination with the PWD (R & B) Mangkolemba.
Altogether, 91 volunteers filled the “countless” potholes with stones, pebbles, and soil. The clogged side drain was cleared; trees and bushes were trimmed and cleared on the road side giving the long forgotten road a facelift.
The repairing was done from Nokyu-Hokiyong ward junction to Tsüpaksa-Nisameyong area- a stretch of 3 kilometres.
Meanwhile, the combined team extended gratitude to senior accounts officer, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Kohima, Mendangsangba Jamir, for financial assistance and the Women Group of Entsüngkong ward for serving refreshment to the volunteers.
