ENCSU phase-II stir in Longleng

Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) has stated that its phase- III agitation which resumed on October 19 passed off without any untoward incident in Longleng district.
In a press release, ENCSU vice president, Akum Lims, stated that the indefinite agitation involved restricting the movement of government vehicles and shutting down of government offices.
The union however stated that emergency services, security forces, administrator on duty and the students appearing the end semester examination were exempted.
ENCSU has informed all the government employees posted in Eastern Nagaland to be stationed in their respective place of duty. In Longleng, the agitation was supported by the federating units of ENSF and volunteered by Longleng Town Students Union and Bhumnyu Students’ Union of Phom Students Conference (PSC) federating units.
Meanwhile, PSC union assembly secretary, A. Shunglam Longbahü, affirmed that the agitation would proceed until justice was delivered over the demands of four MBBS seats. Further, PSC maintained that it would never compromise in any manner unless the demand was fulfilled. PSC has requested all the citizens of Longleng district to extend “full co-operation” during the course of agitation as the demands were genuine.
