The newly constructed “Tribal Boy’s Hostel”, below Fazl Ali College, initiated by the Rural Women Development Trust (RWDT), was inaugurated, Saturday, by the director of Higher Education, I Alempokba. Speaking as the chief guest, I Alempokba lauded the members of the Rural Women Development Trust for the noble endeavour and hoped that this would be the stepping stone to come up with a “Tribal Girl’s Hostel” in the near future. “Women are a great contributor in society and they are more accountable and responsible”, he said. “Experience have shown that those who contribute for the welfare of religion and education are blessed tremendously”, said the chief guest. He thanked the landowner for contributing the site for hostel. While sharing the technical report of the building, SDO, PWD (Housing)Edu Div, Senti stated the hostel was constructed under NLCPR from the ministry of DONER (March 2013). Short speeches were delivered by SDO (C) T Lemlila, principal Fazl Ali College, Chubala and the council chairman of Mokokchung village. The hostel building was dedicated by CBC pastor, Rev. I Wati. Welcome address was said by R Lepden Longkumer and special song was presented by Tiasola. The programme was chaired by RWDT secretary Waila. The Rural Women Development Trust (RWDT) was established in 1985 with the aims and objective to assist and uplift the economic condition of poor tribal boys and girls in the field of education, to assist destitute women, children, divorced women and aged people and also to provide training to the rural people in the field of agriculture, horticulture and to protect the environment.
