ANPSA held annual general meet

All Nagaland private schools’ Association (ANPSA) held its 33rd annual general body meeting with the theme “towards excellence” held at De Oriental grand Kohima on Tuesday. 
Special guest Rakshit Tandon from Delhi in his address speaking on cyber security said that children facing online problem was ever increasing due to lack of proper education and awareness. He said that it was necessary to secure the cyber crime among the school children. Tandon pointed out that children’s psychology were changing due to online games.                 
President ANPSA Bithungo Kikon in his address said taking the three years record of HSLC private schools result in the state it had produced 80 pass percentage out of the total pass percentage and which he believed had been for the past decades and felt proud of such achievement. However, he challenged the members to be honest and to retrospect on how much they have really achieved for what society ought to be or just producing stereo type, exam result oriented children with no moral or ethical values.
He pointed out the concern of unemployment issue where many Naga graduates were unfortunately unemployable because of their attitude or “Ego”. According to him unemployment was a ticking time bomb which once exploded would cause a lot of hardship for all.
On the other hand, he said ANPSA should take pride not only by providing education to children but each school should become employment centers, giving employment to thousands and providing livelihood. He maintained that it was high time that the Nagaland government took cognizance of this fact and acknowledge it in words and deed.
He said that many view private institutions as money oriented but this was far from the truth, wherein he pointed out that were trying to curb the autonomy of the private institutions. He stressed that private institutions were successful due to the autonomy given for its functioning. He called upon ANPSA to strengthen in unity for better future through the children. 
The first session was chaired by Nini Sekhose GS ANPSA, treasurer report gave by Keviseto, aims and objectives of ANPSA and enrolment of new members by Pheluopfhelie advisor ANPSA, central grants for minority institutions was highlighted by Lydia Lepcha Riverine Public school Ura village, quick refresher online quiz led by Christina Neikhrienuo principal Little star HSS, national education policy (NEP), minimum wages, custody of class -9 questions papers etc highlighted by Nini Sekhose. In second session Rakshit Tandon spoke on cyber security with power point presentation. Teacher representatives from Kohima, Dimapur, Phek, Zunheboto and Wokha units attended the programme.
