Vigilance awareness week observed in Kohima

Vigilance Awareness Week was observed at deputy commissioner’s conference hall, Kohima on November 1, jointly organised by the district administration and Lead Bank, Kohima on the theme “public participation in promoting integrity and eradicating corruption”.
According to DIPR, DC, Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor in his speech reiterated the theme as relevant and pertinent which was an important issue to be pondered upon and adhered in day to day functioning of government institutions. Stating that corruption not only referred to government/private institutions but involved all the public sectors. He said that public should function as the watchdog to minimize the corruption prevailing in the society and institutions by participating in terms of neutral guidance and comments in the functioning of the government system. He solicited active participation and involvement of the public in the process which he hoped would reduce any corruption in the working system. 
Assistant commissioner Reny Wilfred IAS, speaking on the theme said Nagaland has the best mobile, best vehicles which were available in any of the developed countries, however on road, education and health sectors, the state stand very low even compared to the poorest states of India. The public can participate in eradicating corruption by taking part in the policy making and be aware of the things which can be used to eradicate corruption, he added. Reny said that Nagaland State has one of the best system in the world ‘the communitization programme for development’, which is one of the best way to combat corruption and bring about inclusive development. 
AGM, SBI, RBO, Dimapur Thangboi Lunkim said that corruption was something which had been deeply rooted in human value and individual morals, which has to be fought with the public participation to promote integrity and eradicate corruptions.
Earlier the programme was chaired by additional deputy commissioner, Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi, vote of thanks by Lead Bank Kohima chief manager Lanuteka Imchen. The program was attended by Senior SP Kohima, DPDB members, AMK and other NGOs. Deputy Commissioner administered the pledge on the occasion.
PHEK: Phek district observed vigilance awareness week and Rasthriyan Sandalp Diwas (National Re-dedicating Day) under the theme “public participation in promoting integrity and eradicating corruption” organised by district administration Phek in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI) Phek branch on October 31 at DPDB conference hall Phek. 
According to DIPR report, deputy commissioner and vigilance officer Phek, Murohu Chotso who was the main speaker highlighted about the active participation of State Vigilance Commission and their effort in eradicating corruption from the state. He urged all government servants to use their power accurately and accordingly so that no offence would be committed. He also administered the pledge.
 A short speech was delivered by Birjit Singh, SBI bank manager Phek where he called upon the public to refrain from fraudulence and deception by fake companies. He also asked the public to co-operate with KYC norms. 
The programme was chaired by Nukutulu SDO (C) Phek. DBs, colony chairman, GBs, DBs, CMA and heads of offices attended the programme.
