89 yrs old Naga traditional treaty renewed

An 89 years old friendship treaty of 1927 between Zhobumai village (Poumai) under Senapati district Manipur and Khezakeno village (Chakhesang) under Phek district was renewed on November 11 in Naga traditional way in the presence of hundreds of villagers from both the villages at community hall Zhobumai village. 
During the formal treaty ceremony programme the two parties vowed and renewed their treaty of peace and friendship by exchanging the Holy Bible and Naga spear.            
The formal programme was led by principal Chakhesang Mission Higher Secondary School Pfutesro, Thekho Rova, invocation prayer by pastor Zhobumai Baptist church Th. Liavikho Rosii, welcome address by chairman Zhobumai village authority Th. Daihrii  Soto, cultural dance performed by Zhobumai cultural troupe. Short speeches were delivered by chairman Khezhakeno village council S. Kepfehou Ladu and president Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization Timikha Koza, while ex-village chairman Zhobumai village Ng. Chasii Zho spoke on significance of the treaty. 
Vote of thanks was proposed by project officer Vety & A.H services Manipur, Dr. Bonny Dovih while benediction prayer was pronounced by Rev. Bulechu. On November 25, Zhobumai villagers would go to Khezhakeno village for friendship treaty programme to be held at Khezhakeno village.
