Government defines ward boundaries

The state government has on November 17 “declared and defined” ward boundaries of 13 Town Councils in Nagaland.
According to an official bulletin, the 13 town councils are Mangkolemba Town,
Tobu Town, Tizit Town, Bhandari Town, Pungro Town, Meluri Town, Chozuba Town, Longkhim Town, East Dimapur Town, Tening Town, Aboi Town, Shamator Town and Noklak Town.
In order to constitute the Town Councils, house to house enumeration for preparation of the Electoral Rolls (E-Roll) for the 13 Town Council Wards shall be conducted with qualifying age of 18 years and are now eligible for registration in the electoral rolls, the bulletin informed.
Therefore, the state election commissioner, Nagaland has directed that fresh preparation of E-Roll for all the Town Council Wards in Nagaland shall be taken up with reference to January 1, 2016 as the qualifying date. 
Schedule for preparation of E-Roll is as follows: house to house enumeration and preparation of manuscript rolls from November 21-28, 2016; draft publication of Electoral E-Roll on November 29; period for filing of Claims & Objection from November 30 to December 4, 2016; period for disposal of Claims and Objections from December 5 to 11; date of hearing of inquiry if any on December 12; period of filing appeal to the appellate authority from December 13-17; period of disposal of appeal on December 18-19; preparation of list of amendment and final publication of E-Roll on December 20, 2016.
