Hope Centre organizes ‘Pointe Shoes’

Pointe Shoes, an annual ‘Ballet Recital’ organized by Hope Centre for excellence, headed by Zubeno Mozhui was held at the Centre’s lawn, Sunday.
The recital was an educational presentation directed by Dr Gilles Chuyen, a professional dance instructor and renowned personality.
It was mainly a sharing of the ballet work happening in the classroom with the 5 grades of the Centre’s ballet academy from grades 1 to 4 senior.
The recital also featured a contemporary dance piece by the most advanced ballerinas titled ‘Reaching Out’.
The finale of the recital was point shoes choreography on the opening of King Arthur by Purcell.
In between, Dr Chuyen explained the history of ballets and the details of ballet style with specific hands and feet positions.
The eager crowd comprised of parents and guardians of the ballet students, well wishers and ballet aficionados.
