Dimapur Area Ao Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship (DAABPF) has appreciated the movement of clean election in Nagaland, whereby various organizations have provided timely leadership and example.
A press note by DAABPF stated that its solidarity with: A) Diezephe Village Council for taking the bold step of deleting all bogus and proxy names from E-Roll on May 14, 2016. B) Nagaland Baptist Church Council for launching the Clean Election campaign on July 22 and for forming a state-level Clean Election Core Committee. C) Langpangkong Range Students’ Conference (LKM) for initiating the Clean Election Campaign Committee and launching it officially in September 2016. D) The Editors representing the Newspapers in Nagaland state, for resolving on November 21, to refrain from publishing any information that contradicts the objectives of Clean Elections in Nagaland and the principle of “one person – one vote.” E) Aoyimti village (Village Council, Church, Lanur Telongjem, Watsu) for the formation of “Aoyimti Clean Election Action Committee” on November 26, 2016. DAABPF also endorses the dedication and tireless effort of Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) in challenging all the Nagas to come together and work for a corrupt-free society.
DAABPF was optimistic that the role model shown by these groups and many others who were also praying and preparing to join the movement would go a long way in bringing transformation in society. It also appeals to the people of Nagaland to join hands and participate to make this dream of Clean Election a reality.
