Even though Dimapur district recorded more than 100 cases of Dengue till November 27, the State health authority Monday said that cases have come down following intensive integrated vector control measures for the containment of the dengue outbreak carried out by the Urban Vector Borne Disease Scheme (NVBDCP, CMO office Dimapur.
In a press note, asst. director Urban Vector Borne Disease Control Scheme, Dimapur Kikolul Khieya said employees have been working round the clock since the outbreak in September.
The asst director said that apart from distributions of large number of larvivarous fish to the public in October, larvicidal operation has been enhanced.
Entomological team has also been carrying out round the clock studies to contain the breeding and spread of Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes in various colonies while fogging team has been continuously fogging Malathion in all the colonies, the release stated. It therefore, urged the public not to panic but co-operate with the department and destroy any mosquito breeding place by keeping indoor and outdoor clean.
