Jacob graces SSUG silver jubilee

Sumi Students Union Guwahati (SSUG) celebrated its silver jubilee on November 2, at Greenwood Resort Khanapara Guwahati, under the theme “Education and social transformation” with parliamentary secretary of Irrigation and Flood control, Jacob Zhimomi as chief guest.
Speaking at the programme chief guest in his speech congratulated SSUG for achieving 25 years of existence and also thanked the pioneers for their selfless service rendered for the SSUG. 
Jacob also encouraged the students to be patient and dedicate their life to God, if they wanted to achieve success in life. “If you sleep today, you will suffer tomorrow, if you donot sow the seed in the right time you will have nothing to reap tomorrow”, he quoted.
Lamenting on the excess employment and unemployment cases in Nagaland, Zhimomi encouraged the youths not to depend on government job alone but rather to be self dependant by learning various kinds of skill development. 
He said that “government is not only the employer in the state” and thereby urged upon the youths to join the private sectors. He also informed about the skill development which has been set up by the state government with a view to eradicate unemployment problem.
Jacob also highlighted the importance to preserve one’s own culture and identity. 
Earlier, invocation prayer was pronounced by Sumi Christian fellowship, Guwahati, pastor Kughato Chishi and welcome address was delivered by SSUG president Inaka VikeyeNu Achumi.
