December 10, 2016 | by admin

The 6th Special Christmas for specially-abled persons, organised by Special Olympics Nagaland (SON) and sponsored by Nagaland Hotel and Restaurant Association (NHRA), was celebrated Saturday at Green Park, 5th Mile Dimapur. Warehouse-A Worship Resource School director Jack Pucho was the speaker on the occasion.
In his message, Jack Pucho, who was also the former youth pastor of Spirit of Faith Church, said that everyone was equal in the eyes of the Lord. God, said the speaker, created us masterfully and with a purpose. While reminding that everyone is perfect in the eyes of the Lord, he said, “we are who God says we are and not what other says.”
The celebration was marked by special songs, choreography and dance by specially-abled children.
It may be mentioned here that the mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympics-type sports for all children and adult with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with families, other special Olympics athletes and community.
The Special Olympics Nagaland state chapter strives to create a platform of transformation in the lives of people living with all types of disabilities for holistic development and recognize their special abilities enabling them to live with dignity within the community.
