Alleged serial bikelifter apprehended in Wokha

Wokha police on Friday apprehended a serial bike lifter and recovered one stolen Yamaha R-15 bike with registration AS.03P/3987 from his possesion.
According to Wokha police, the accused Yanpothung Ngullie (22), son of late Mhonthung of Okotso village was apprehended along with the stolen bike from the vicinity of PWD Colony, Wokha town at around 4:30 pm while conducting search operations following information received from Dimapur police in connection with the missing bike. In the FIR lodged by one Altab Hussain at East Police Station, Dimapur (GDE East PS 12/16 dated 15/12/16), Altab had put up an advertisement in the website OLX to sell off his bike. The accused reportedly contacted him through phone and they met up on December 15 around 12:30 noon when the accused allegedly took the bike for a test drive and disappeared.
Wokha police said the accused had also revealed that this was the third bike he had lifted. Around two months back, the accused had allegedly lifted two bikes – one Apache and one Pulsar – which he disposed off within a week in Wokha. Thereafter, he had reportedly left for Delhi seeking a job in a private company in Gurgaon where he stayed for two months and came back this month, Wokha police informed.
