District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committees (DDCMC) (DISHA Committee) Kohima held its 3rd quarterly meeting under the chairmanship of co-chairman, Rajya Sabha MP, K. G. Kenye at DC’s conference hall on November 4. Social welfare, minister Kiyanilie Peseyie and DC, Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor IAS were also present at the meeting.
According to DIPR DISHA committee co-chairman, K.G Kenye said, district DISHA committee meeting was considered an important committee at the Ministry level, which reviewed the progress report of flagship programmes under the ministry of rural development implemented by various development departments in the state.
On Jal Marg Vikash Project (Inland Water Ways), Kenye informed the house that the Inland Waterways of India has identified three river streams namely Tizu, Dhansiri and Doyang rivers in the state as national waterways.
He further informed that Tizu river have been recently identified to be taken up as super waterways by Government of India. He said that proposal for constitution of state inland waterways board has been proposed to the state government and expressed his optimism that the board would be constituted, which would be a dedicated committee for further necessary actions.
It was also decided to ask the concerned departments on various schemes to submit their status reports at the earliest and also to attend the DISHA meetings for clarifications. DC & member secretary DISHA committee also requested concerned departments to submit their quarterly reports in a standard reporting format based on the programme being implemented by the respective departments.
It also decided to issue strong letter to the consecutive absentees in the meeting and next quarterly meeting will be held in the third week of January 2017.
