32 Assam Rifles (AR)/ 6 sector AR under the aegis of head quarters Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) on Monday initiated another noble cause for the upliftment and development of local youth by sponsoring scholarship to meritorious students under military civic action programme.
In a brief speech, Commandant Col. Vishnu Singh Shikarwar said that the project was to envisage and to negate the scarcity of adequate educational facilities, career courses in the remote locations of the state that create a void and handicap for potential students. He also announced that total of twelve students from the state would be provided with sponsorship for professional courses like NDA, SDS, SSC, railway and banking examinations.
He also informed that coaching would be conducted by Excel coaching and computer center Dimapur and the students will be provided free coaching classes, accommodation, mess and study material as part of the project which would be conducted over a period of two months.
The brief programme was attended by students, parents and coaching faculties and rank and file of 32 AR.
