28 Assam Rifles seize liquor

Troops of 28 Assam Rifles in a search operation at foot hill road on Wokha – Merapani state Highway, seized 408 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs. 65, 000 (apx) which was being smuggled from Assam into Nagaland, on January 24.
In a press release,  Lt. Col. Raman Pruthi, SO-1 (G), Assam Rifles check post said a a Bolero AS 06 AC 0612 was intercepted in which the liquor was hidden, allegedly belonging to Yiadsapen Kikon, resident of Bhandari of Wokha District.
A total of 408 bottles of liquor was seized in 22 cases amounting to approximately Rs 65 thousand.
Yiadsapen Kikon, was handed over to Bhandari Police Station along with the seized liquor and an FIR against the individual has been lodged in Bhandari Police Station, stated the release.
