ENPO flays govt

Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has strongly voiced out against the state government’s decision to hold urban local bodies (ULB) election in selected ENPO areas.  In a press release, media cell ENPO stated that the state government’s decision was “nothing but a deliberate policy to disturb the unity of eastern Nagaland.” It stated that the state government should have used the same yardstick all over Nagaland.
In view of what it described as “divisive role being applied to Eastern Nagaland by the state government”, the ENPO has urged all its people to voice against the “indifferent attitude” of the state government. ENPO pointed out that the NBCC had played “a laudable role as servants of God in the interest of peace amongst the people of the state.” However, ENPO said the state government govt “outrightly violated the covenant” that was agreed to withhold the elections for two months.
