Govt. to face tough questions

MLA READIES TO PUT GOVT IN THE DOCK ON VARIOUS ISSUES 

With looming fear of disciplinary action if they went against the government by raising issues on the floor of the house, ruling NPF legislators including independents were not likely to embarrass the ruling DAN government in the ongoing assembly session. 
However, when the house resumes after a one-day break on Thursday, BJP legislator Mmhonlumo Kikon will certainly put the government ministers in charge of several departments in the dock. He has been reportedly threatened for posing embarrassing questions on the government. On the top of the agenda will be the ‘backdoor appointment’ scam that has rocked Nagaland since the past decade but which have been abandoned mid-way by organisations who raised the issues.
Home/Police: It is reported that from 2014 to 2017 there were 1100 appointed in the police department through ‘backdoor’ and which has caused serious financial and other problems.
In one of the starred questions, Mmhonlumo will seek answers from the minister of home and in-charge of police to provide details of how many appointments were made from 2013 to 2017 in the department. 
The legislator has also asked for details on the appointment process and procedure followed for constables,Havildars, ASI, ABSI/UBSI, NPTO SI and MTSI and third grade clerical posts from 2014-17.
To add to the discomfiture of the department, Mmhonlumo has also demanded that newspaper advertisements if any, for the above posts be furnished before interviews were called or conducted.
The following are some of the departments to whom starred questions were raised by the BJP legislator and which the respective minister-in charge will have to reply with details that will be tabled in the house.
Health and Family Welfare: Number of appointments from 2014-15-16-17 with names of all appointees in all districts. He has also asked details of work orders and status reports of all construction and building works in all districts. The MLA has also asked for details of all funds received under CSS from 2014 to 2017.
He also sought details of the status of the proposed Medical College in Kohima and status of payments to be made to NGOs working on PLV HIV&AIDS. 
F&CS: The BJP legislator has also asked the minister-in-charge of Food & Civil Supplies (F&CS) to provide status of investigation on fuel adulteration case and how many of those involved have been arrested. 
He has also asked for list of beneficiaries of Food Security Act in all districts along with items received.
R&B: The MLA has demanded to know how many appointment were made in the department during 2014-15-16-17 and the names of the appointees and details. He also asked for details of work orders and status reports on all works under the department from 2014 to 2017.
He also asked for the name of the firm given work for construction of bridge over Doyang river and whether any tender was called. He has also asked for details on allocation for all divisions for road maintenance from 2014 to 2017.
DoSE: Mmhonlumo has also asked for details of amount received from Ministry of Human Resources Development for RMSA, Mid Day Meal and SSA projects from 2014-17. 
He also sought details of amount released to DoSE from Finance department for CSS programmes from 2014-17. He has also asked for details of vehicles purchased under RMSA and SSA with invoices.
