GPIK foundation stone laid by Deo Nukhu

The programme for laying of foundation stone for Government Polytechnic Institute Kiphire (GPIK) was held at Kiphire on April 6 at the proposed site of Langkok in Kiphire district. The foundation stone was inaugurated by parliamentary secretary of Higher and Technical Education, Deo Nukhu as the chief guest.
Deo Nukhu in his inaugural speech thanked the Langkok village land owners for donating the land for educational development. He encouraged the people of Kiphire district that the government needed support of the people in every developmental activity.
He mentioned that the Government Polytechnic Kiphire district was earlier approved by the MHRD along with Longleng district. The chief guest urged the gathering to encourage young students to change their attitude towards learning mathematics and science so as to join engineering courses.
As this institute would offer various diploma courses of engineering, he urged the people to take advantage of having this opportunity in their own place. Deo Nukhu stated that the Govt. Polytechnic Kiphire would be a unique one.
Deputy commissioner Kiphire, Sedevikho Khro in his speech stated that the opening of polytechnic would be a blessing for the young generation. He urged the local people not to obstruct development but to welcome it with a changed attitude for progress. He also stated that people should develop the sense of belongingness on public/govt. property. He also thanked the development of technical education for giving a polytechnic institute to Kiphire district.
The program was attended by govt. officers, officials of USLP, student leaders, chairman, GBs and public of Langkok village.
