
Wildlife Division, Dimapur conducted a programme on human animal conflict mitigation awareness campaign at ADC conference hall in Tseminyu village on May 10.
Chief guest of the programme ADC Tseminyu, Vikhweno Mehratsu in her speech stressed on the importance of preservation and conservation of wildlife and to stop hunting.
Earlier the welcome address was given by the range officer, Tseminyu Forest Range, keynote address by S.P. Tripathi, PCCF & chief wildlife warden, Nagaland. Speeches were given by Sidramapa, IFS, DFO, Kohima, Forest Division and also by the GBs and council members from Sendenyu, Kandinyu, Tesophenyu, Tseminyu villages respectively. The students from Baptist High School attended the programme with a special song. Power point presentation was given by Tsuseki from Bhutan Glory Eco-club Fakim, Kiphire. Vote of thanks was proposed by Hukai H. Zhimo, wildlife crime control unit, Dimapur.
The programme is part of the wildlife’s division campaign on “maximum awareness with effective enforcement” and to instil in young minds, “the importance of wildlife at an early age” and to solicit the support and cooperation of the public in protection of wildlife.
The programme chaired by wildlife warden, Wildlife Division K. Caroline Angami was started with an invocation prayer by the pastor of Tseminyu Baptist Church.
