Director General (DG) of Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM visited Kohima where he called upon the chief minister, Dr. Shurhozelie Lietzietsu on May 8.
According to PRO-IGAR (N) Kohima, the DG was on a two-day visit and met with the chief minister to discuss security related issues of Nagaland. DG assured the chief minister the Assam Rifles would live up to its motto of “friends of the hill people.”
DG during his visit interacted with officers and troops of Assam Rifles wherein he exhorted them to continue to perform their duty in a dedicated manner.
DG also attended the closing ceremony of Assam Rifles U-19 Oorja CAPF Talent Hunt Football Tournament as guest of honour.
