Capacity building and awareness camp

Three-day capacity building orientation training programme under National Livestock Mission (NLM) 2015-15 for block farmers was organised by chief AH & Vety office, Zunheboto from May 16 to 18.  
Dr. Ikato FM SPBC, Akuloto, Dr. Bocto Sumi, VAS Vety Hospital, Zbto and Arong Jamir, supervisor Vety Hospital, Zbto were the resource persons.  
Dr. Ikato encouraged farmers to keep proper animal record in the farm for assessing the value of animals and farm management saying that food aspects had a bearing on the profitability of the animal production.  Arong Jamir, explained aspects of AI types of heat & it’s detection for right time insemination, its importance followed by practical demonstration.
Earlier, the chief A.H. Vety. Officer Zbto, Dr. Toshi Aier in his keynote address explained on the govt’s objective of organising and conducting the program. The training program was attended by 38 livestock farmers from different blocks of the district. Benediction was pronounced by supervisor Heikshi and distribution of cash incentives to the trainees.
CVO, Zunheboto also said that artificially inseminated after induced heat conceived three calves were expected to give birth towards the end of this year in the district & in order to provide such facility, efforts were on for procurement of the technology to make available to farmers in the district.   
CVO also said, the Nagaland Livestock Development Board, Kma had from May 5 started organising campaigns for Chishilimi, Hebolimi and Chisolimi under Kity area of Pughoboto sub-division. Dr. Tekasangba Jamir, VAS Vety dispensary  Pughoboto was the resource person. The program ended with group discussion and distribution of Vitamins, M.mix, anthelmentics and cash incentives to the farmers of the three villages.
