Ao Students Conference (AKM), Ao Students Union, Kohima (ASUK) and Ao Students Union, Dimapur (ASUD) in collaboration with the Divine Bridge Ministries, New Delhi organized a series of career guidance seminar on May 17, 19 and 20 at Mokokchung, Kohima and Dimapur respectively under the theme “Building on Excellence”.
Various resource persons spoke and guided the young aspirants. Hundreds of students, mostly those who have cleared HSLC and HSSLC, attended the seminar and were given counselling. Even parents who attended the seminar were enlightened on how to build career for their children. Divine Bridge Ministries, director, Supongchiten, pointed out that the greatest stumbling-block for students to choose their career would be their parents who wanted their children to fulfil their dreams.
During the three-day seminar at the three venues, resource persons were, Dr. Jamedi Lkr, associate professor Dimapur Govt. College, Aotula T Imchen, Er. Yanger Pongen, Er. Asangba Pongen, Dr S. K Chauhan, director Alpine Institute of Management and Technology, Dehradun, and Supongchiten, director, Divine Bridge Ministries, Delhi.
It may be mentioned that EduAide career and counselling under Divine Bridge Ministries, a Delhi based NGO, was set up to give free counselling to aspirant students who wanted to pursue higher studies in various fields.
Founder director Supongchiten undertook this initiative after having come across and seen the exploitation of students by middlemen who charged undue fees after giving wrong information. Divine Bridge Ministries tries to give counselling from choosing subject of interest to appropriate institution and also help in availing scholarship and concession/discount for financially weaker section.
