Old Jalukie Village Council (OJVC), Jalukie Pumling Nko (JPN) and Jalukie Students’ Union Nagaland (JSUN) have appealed to the students, parents and staff of Government Higher Secondary School, Jalukie to tolerate with the inconveniences caused by the ongoing indefinite bandh since May 25. OJVC chairman Hainkieng, JPN chairman Irai Hingleu and JSUN president Haizin Mpom in a joint press statement, stated that the issue has reached at its peak and therefore, JSUN was compelled to take such action till the matter comes to a logical conclusion as demanded. JSUN has also decided not to communicate with the education department on this matter anymore as more time had been endorsed to the department. The decision to resume the indefinite bandh was taken at the joint meeting of JSUN, OJVC and JPN on May 24 to protest against the state government’s “insensitive attitude” on the appointment of grade IV employees at GHSS Jalukie.
JVYO: Jalukie Valley Youth Organisation (JVYO) said it was saddened at the prevailing situation where the innocent students and staff were affected by indefinite bandh imposed by OJVC, JPN and JSUN to protest against the “lackadaisical attitude” of the school education department. In this regard, JVYO president Machigwang Mpom and assistant general secretary Nampeu have urged the department to immediately resolve the issue before the matter goes out of hand.
