All Nagaland Aphuyemi Elders’ Forum (ANAEF) has resolved to ensure ‘clean election’ under its jurisdiction, for the forthcoming election to 13th A/C Pughoboto, under Zunheboto district.
ANAEF president Yeghoto Chishi in a press note stated that the forum during its executive meeting held at Kohima on June 10, unanimously resolved that the forum would allow only one election office for each candidate. No candidate or agents would be allowed to distribute any kind of intoxicated drinks for entertaining the electorates during the process/time of election, no feasting or mass feeding before or after the voting except for agents and party workers, no procession to be carried out either by the masses or political parties in support of a particular candidate by foot or by vehicles, no candidate would be allowed to distribute properties both movable or immovable to the voters favouring somebody. The forum said human being was precious creation of God, and that one should value and honour the creator by not attempting to sell votes or buy others but should elect a leader based on free and fair election by exercising his/her rights. It said the forum would accept any candidate who would be honest, trustworthy, capable and with integrity to lead the people and government in the right direction.
