Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) has strongly condemned the action of a woman who was held with brown sugar on June 5 by Dimapur Excise Department at Chumukedima check gate.
In a condemnation note, LEH president, Mhonchumi Humtsoe urged the concerned department to book all those involved in carrying out such activities within the district at the earliest, demanding stern action against them as per the law.
LEH, quoting reliable sources, informed that the accused woman was sent by a man from Wokha to pick the consignment from Dimapur with an assurance of commission for safe delivery of the consignment.
The apex Lotha women organisation further applauded the Excise Department headed by the Dimapur superintendent of Excise Chalie Angh for the commendable job.
