Kohima Ongpangkong Telongjem (KOT) organised the 11th N.I. Jamir academic excellence award programme on July 15 at Moluki, Merhulietsa Kohima with commissioner of taxes, Nagaland, Asangba Chuba as the main speakers In his address, Asangba Chuba, described the recipients of the award as an honour and exhorted them that to achieve something we have to work harder.
He asked the students to work honestly, to have motivation and advised the gathering not to escape from reality but be aware of the current situation. In is short speech, Retd. chief secretary, Alemtemshi Jamir, in congratulated all the awardees reminded the gathering that in this competitive world everyone has to work hard in order to achieve success in life.
N.I. Jamir trust board member, C. ImtingzukLongkumer, late N.I. Jamir as fatherly figure not only for the Aos but for the Nagas and added that the award may be the first but it will become a gateway for the future.
N.I. Jamir Academic Excellence Award was given to Ao students who come up in the top twenty in the HSLC exam conducted by NBSE. The award includes Rs. 10000 cash and a certificate. The recipient of 2017 N.I. Jamir Academic Excellence Award are Moamanen Jamir 10th Rank, Limatula Imchen 12th Rank, T. Sentolila Lemtor 13th Rank, Nokingsangla Jamir 14th Rank, Temjeninla Jamir 16th Rank, Zuiner Jamir 18th Rank, LongsenerLongkumer 19th Rank and Okten Jamir 20th Rank. So far 42 students have received the N.I. Jamir Academic Excellence Award till 2017.
