Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has decided to collect Rs. 40 monthly as Residential Sanitary Tax (RST) from each household starting from August next.
The decision was taken at the meeting held on July 20, between DMC, DUCCF and GB’s Union, informed DMC administrator Moa Sangtam in a press statement.
DMC also informed that out of the total amount, Rs. 30 will be submitted to the DMC for maintenance of vehicles, payment of salaries to drivers and labours and POL expenditure. The remaining Rs. 10 will be kept by the ward sanitation committee for collector salaries and other expenditures. DMC will also provide garbage and households waste collection services from August 1, 2017, where one tripper 407 has been be earmarked for each ward. Further, DMC has urged all the residents of Dimapur municipality to cooperate with the municipal authority.cil
