
All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) was advised to be the voice of the college students and also not hesitate to voice out their concern in times of “political and social confusion” without being bias for the benefit of the society.
This was said by ANCSU former president, Medo Chirhah while speaking at ANCSU 38th foundation day as the guest speaker at NSF conference hall Kohima on Wednesday.
Medo said the aim and objective of ANCSU was to create a common platform for the college students in Nagaland for the upliftment of various colleges, to maintain unity, integrity and fight for the rights.
He challenged the gathering not to forget the objective of the union but strive to contribute for the growth of the student community. Medo also advised the union to seriously ponder over anything that was important for the society and act on it.
Medo also expressed concern over mushrooming of the private colleges and hostels in the state without proper facilities, infrastructure and qualified teachers.
Emphasizing the importance of education, he said education is the key to bright future and added that the union should be an agent to check the proper that the state has proper education system.
In his presidential address, ANCSU, president, Temjennungsang Jamir informed that ANCSU was formed in the year 1970 under the motto “unity is Strength”.
The programme was led by ANCSU program coordinator Katho P Awomi, invocation prayer was said by ANCSU women coordinator Janhoni Patton, special was presented by St. Joseph’s College Jakhama, special prayer for ANCSU was said by CCRC D block Kohima Pastor, Mhasisielie Theünuo and vote of thanks was proposed by ACSU general secretary, Benjong Longchar.
The programme was attended by NSF president, Kesosul Christopher Ltu, ANCSU tribunal general Kezhazer Angami, representatives from various colleges and others.
