Young Naga pianist make it to Con Brio top 3

Young Naga pianist Chathavi Vüprü, has made it to the top 3 at Con Brio- The John Gomes memorial Piano Competition and Festival held under the theme ‘Celebrating 70 years of Indian independence’ held at National Centre for the Performing Arts, Mumbai.
Chathavi, 17, has been studying piano under renowned piano tutor Ezono Kithan John at Hope Centre of Excellence, where he has completed grade 8.
Before the competition Chathavi was mentored by eminent musician Nise Meruno.  Speaking to the media the young Chathavi said he was so thrilled and thank God for making this possible. He also mentioned that he has no regrets for not winning the title but was grateful for the experience and all the wonderful things learned during the competition. It may be noted that he was the youngest in the competition and also won the prestigious *People’s Choice Award*. 
The winner of the competition was Sonam Lodhi from Pune, while first and second runners up were Nipun Malhotra from Delhi and Chathavi Vüprü from Dimapur respectively.
The event was directed by Parvesh Java, while Furtados in association with National Centre for the Performing Arts, Mumbai presented the event.
The competition also featured Marialena Fernandes, Mark Troop, Patricia Rozario and Paul Stewart.
