Night curfew has been reinforced from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the areas of Assam side bordering Nagaland prohibiting movement of any person, group of persons and vehicles in the 5km belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland. According DIPR, the order issued by additional district magistrate, Sivasagar, Assam has however exempted security personnel and officials on duty from the purview of the prohibitory order. The prohibitory order, which came into force on July 26 would remain in force for a period of 60 days.
